DKW Crystals
Magnetite
Mineral: iron oxide
Formula: FeO·Fe2O3
Mohs: 5.5-6.5
Colour:   grayish/black metallic lustre
Source: Mexico

This naturally occurring mineral is the most magnetic of all the lodestones on the planet, with definite north and south poles. As it carries a dominant magnetic signature in rocks, it holds a very high scientific importance in discovery and understanding plate tectonics;  of the conditions under which rocks form and evolve, and in the recording of the changes in the Earth’s magnetic field. Magnetite crystals have been found in the brains of some migrating birds, fish and insects (bees and termites), which implies these beings have the ability to sense the polarity of the Earth’s magnetic fields and so to navigate during adverse weather conditions and migratory flight/.
Found world-wide.

Metaphysical
Magnetite known as a ‘Stone for Stability’.
Astrological Sign:  Aries (21st March - 20th April), Caprcorn (22nd December - 20th January), Aquarius (21st January - 19th February), Virgo  (24th August - 22nd September).
Keywords: Grounding, alignment, balancing polarities, awakening hidden potential
Element: Earth
Chakra: All
Use: re-alignment of the electro-magnetic fields of the auric bodies & balancing the polarities.  Aids telepathy, meditation & visualisation.  A balanced perspective & trust in one’s own intuition.  Due to its magnetism, is said to attract love, commitment and loyalty.
Healing:   for asthmatic conditions, blood & lymph circulatory systems, skin & hair.  Stimulates sluggish organs & helps sedate overactive ones. Relieves muscular aches & pains, especially sports related injuries.
